Legal Loophole Lets Nearly 150,000 Vote Without ID In Key Swing State

As if the 2024 election needed any more headaches.

From the tragic shooting at Donald Trump’s rally to the apparent coronation of Kamala Harris, the election has been riddled with a remarkable array of extraordinary situations, which almost beggar belief.

Now, even more developments pertain to beggar belief … specifically with regards to photo ID laws for voters.

Or, more specifically, the potential violation of such laws in a crucial swing state.

As reported by the New York Post, a legal loophole has recently been exposed.

This allows thousands of individuals across Wisconsin without showing photo identification, despite photo ID being required by state law.

Trump won Wisconsin in 2016, whereas Biden won Wisconsin in 2020.

Apparently, Trump and Harris are “neck and neck” in competition for Wisconsin, as suggested from recent polls.

Consequently, the state is important in the forthcoming election.

According to a report from the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL), the voter rolls for individuals who are “indefinitely confined” has increased to 144,000, or a 116 percent increase since 2016.

Lovely.

By 2020, the Wisconsin Elections Commission confirmed that more than one in five voters did not show a photo ID when registering for “indefinitely confined” status.

And, not so coincidentally, the “indefinitely confined” voters comprised 8 percent of the votes cast in the 2020 election.

Yet another legal loophole that facilitates the unsavory schemes of power-hungry politicians.

Apparently, this loophole emerged during the pandemic, when individuals across Milwaukee and Madison were able to vote without ID during the lockdowns.

Will Flanders, who authored the aforementioned WILL report, noted that the situation is absolutely an exploitation of Wisconsin law.

“We have a loophole here that lets people not have to show a photo ID,” Flanders noted.

Flanders also estimates that up to 38,000 “indefinitely confined” voters on the registration roles may no longer be eligible to vote under state law.

“If a municipality is non-compliant with the legal requirements to remove individuals from the indefinitely confined list, then a voter from that community would need to file a complaint with [Wisconsin Election Commission],” Flanders continued.

One can only hope that complaints are made … and taken seriously.

“WILL would be open to discussing particularly egregious cases with anyone in noncompliant communities,” Flanders added.

Indeed, Flanders’s observation of 38,000 additional voters is deeply troubling.

As Biden won Wisconsin by a reported 21,000 votes, it is clear to see why such statistics regarding this legal loophole are cause for concern.

Especially in an election with even more at stake in 2024 than 2020 … and 2020 was critical.

Which is why 2024 is even more critical.
