Leave it to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to do everything within her power to spite incoming President Donald Trump, regardless of how much her actions cause harm to Americans.
As many Americans are painfully aware, illegal migrants have shamelessly killed quite a few innocent people.
Including young nursing students.
For this reason, in March 2024, the Laken Riley Act passed the House, with a total of
264 votes in favor and 159 votes against.
That’s right: According to a disturbing report from the Daily Mail, 159 Democrats voted against the Laken Riley Act, a bill that would more easily allow illegal migrant criminals to be deported.
One such deportee would have included repeat criminal Jose Ibarra, who hails from Venezuela and is guilty of murdering Laken Riley, an innocent nursing student.
The act named in her honor “requires ICE to detain migrants who have been charged with theft and other crimes. It also enables individual states to sue the federal government if it or its citizens are harmed by immigration related actions.”
Apparently, Democrats such as Pelosi did not agree with the sentiments of the act, as she was one of the ones to vote against it.
Much to the amazement of various conservatives.
For instance, Representative Tim Burchett, a Republican of Tennessee, was stunned by Democrats, such as Pelosi, who opposed the bill.
“What in the world? 159 Democrats voted against the Laken Riley act. Why would you in favor of rapists and murderers?” Burchett exclaimed.
Republican Representative Tom Tiffany was equally dismayed.
“Today, we passed the Laken Riley Act to ensure illegal aliens who commit theft offenses, like her killer, are deported before they can reoffend. Shamefully, 159 Democrats voted against it,” Tiffany huffed
House Speaker Mike Johnson was even more pointed in his criticism, making it abundantly clear that Democrats who voted against the bill are clearly not in alignment with the needs of the American people.
“Laken Riley was brutally murdered by an illegal alien that President Biden and the Democrats let into this country with their open border policy. It is hard to believe after countless horrific stories like Laken’s, any House Democrats would vote against deporting illegal aliens who commit violent crimes against American citizens,” Johnson remarked in disgust.
It is definitely hard to believe.
Rather pathetic that AOC, Ilhan Omar, and other hate mongers “win” in matters like this.
“But 159 just did, demonstrating some Democrats have ignored the loud and clear message from voters in this election who demanded secure borders, the deportation of violent illegal aliens, and laws that put the safety and security of the American people first,” Johnson added.
Well, gotta get those “newcomer” voters in, after all. How else can the Dems scheme and steal?
“Progressive” Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal offered a typically uninspiring response to the Democrats who insanely voted against the bill.
“This is the Republican playbook over and over again: Scare people about immigrants, never propose anything that actually solves an outdated and arcane immigration system,” Jayapal sniffed.
Is that so?
Then, pray tell, why have other major Democrats, such as Senator John Fetterman and Senator Gary Peters, voted in favor of the bill?
Heck, Fetterman actually co-sponsored the bill in the Senate, and, in doing so, he became the first Democrat senator to voice open support for the bill.
Perhaps “progressives” may want to jump on a more sensible bandwagon, before they are all voted out of the House.
